Odyssey Country Club is pleased to have Two-time U.S.
Open Champion Curtis Strange as chief design consultant
for one of Chicagoland's Top 15 public courses. Curtis
Strange's status, as one of the all-time greats in the
history of golf, help provide insightful course designs
and breathtaking imagination. Highlights of his legendary
career include back-to-back U.S. Open Championships
in 1988 and 1989, becoming only the sixth person to
do so in the 110 year history of the Open. He also won
back-to-back Arnold Palmer awards in 1987 and 1988 as
well as having 17 career tour victories to his credit.
Curtis is currently an award-winning commentator for
ABC Sports and occasionally continues to compete on
the PGA Tour.
Curtis's
ideas and suggestions have a profound impact on the
layout of Odyssey Country Club based on his perspective
as a touring professional. Working closely with course
architect Harry Bowers, Curtis brought his traditional
style of golf architecture to the Odyssey design. The
Odyssey Country Club's breathtaking layout inspires
players of all levels to achieve unparalleled heights
never before thought possible. Home of the '96, '97,
and '98 Illinois Women's Open, Odyssey is dedicated
to featuring amazing landscaping and magnificent scenery
as mother nature had intended.
